Literature Text

He is an alabaster statue found in the sun's relentless rays;
of fragile glass and yet he does not gleam or stand ablaze
Stark eyes fall dull upon the horizon with a despairing gaze
A beauty he must possess; a brilliance he watches in haze

He yearns to inch forth and be rid of his imprisoning court
So that he may gleam in her golden strands which fall just short
Glimmering, she dances through the voids of her cloudy fort
Translucent jealousy of the shroud he'd give anything to distort

A jealousy so powerful he'd run the risk of whisking away his being
Melting, he sacrifices stability to bask in that warmth so freeing
An innocent hindrance to his pride at the price of his dreaming
For even when darkness falls, it is she he is seeing

Oh, what a tragedy.
What a tragedy.
Inspired by a person's undying passion for someone or something; they obsess and beg. They allow it to tear them apart. Yes, I did write this about someone present in my life who has allowed his desperation for my affections take a strong hold on himself. Jealousy and envy are powerful self-destructing tools. Oh, what a tragedy.

I like this. Its very evocative and visual. You are a romantic poet and you have a great appreciation for rhyme and metre which is really great because many poets don't have the skill or the dedication to stick to it.

It is raw as well. I like that a lot. It deals with extremes of human emotions, like jealousy and desire.

Great stuff.
